Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP)

IWP has joint ventures with two Australian companies for waste water treatment plants (WTPs).  One of them has designed and constructed many Class A WWTPs.  The other one has Class B Bio Reactor technology, which can also be used to reclaim (treat) toxic mine affected water.

Class A

  • Conventional technology
  • Effluent can be discharged to water ways
  • Expensive to construct
  • Long construction period
  • Higher training and operational costs

Class B

  • Cheap to construct
  • Short construction period
  • Low operational costs
  • Effluent is ideal for irrigating and fertilizing agriculture
  • Effluent can’t be used for sprinkler irrigation due to small risk of airborne pathogens.
  • Effluent can’t be discharged to water ways due to high nutrient content (phosphates)
